Structuring your essays - A2 Unit 3 watch

Hey all, I have quite a big problem.
In all of my essays I have achieved nothing over a C when it comes to doing mock essays for the Unit 3 English Lit exam (Texts and Genres.)

My main issue seems to be A01 - expression. My tutor has given me someone's exam paper (marked 80/80) so I can learn how to express myself more precisely and effectively, but when I read it I don't see anything particularily special. I have ALL the ideas in my head, just putting it on paper is a MAJOR issue.

I'm not coming up with excuses, but I am naturally from a lower class background, so initially the language I used to use was pretty awful for an English Literature student (Only achieved a low C in the Unit 1 exam.) Admittedly, I have shown progression, but as the exam is only about 2 months and a bit away, I need to improve quick!

Does anyone have any tips on how to express/structure their essays much more effectively? Apparently I tend to 'do a Carter' and have my own little preamble
