Flaccid. It just sounds wet and slimy and eeeuughhh. Also hate the word conjugate, which sounds like some sort of vile sexual disease, although i'm not sure why..
Totally agree with you on 'flaccid'. 'Turgid' isn't much better though....

Conjugate reminds me of coagulate which reminds me of GLOBULES. Bleugh.

    Myriad. Apotheosis. Defenestrate.

I have a love/hate relationship with these words. Damn you IB HL English!
I'm sorry, but defenestrate is a superb word.

I don't like the word 'squelch'. It's the grossest word ever.

Thus I try not to use it.
    This.

Also, moist :gah: I HATE that word!

Not when we started using it to pun about goats. That went on for more than a year.

    The horror . . . the horror . . .

Man, IB English was weird :indiff:

I hate the word 'frigid' - horrible, cold, aggressive word. I also hate it when people say 'per say' - just very pretentious in its usage.

Someone used that in a thread a day or two ago and I didn't understand them. It turned out they meant "per se".

I thought it was spelt like that, but a quick google search mislead me.

It's a guitar sound effect... thing.
    There's my GCSE Music knowledge
    That's flanger

I hate the word "mainstream". Just urgh. Like when people say "Oh that band is SOOOO mainstream now, they were much better when they were unsigned and when that guy with the twitch was still here and when the lead singer waved his penis around on stage, etc. etc.". Makes me want to kick them in the face.

The word 'kephalonomancy' makes my blood boil. I hear it all the time and people should really stop using it so damn often. I just feel like punching someone in the face when they say that.

The word 'cancer' is unpleasant for obvious reasons - I like to use it an an insult to people though for effect; i.e 'you're a cancer' or 'get cancer and die'.
