    I'd prefer it.
I'm guessing some gym-proud 'manly' men negged you  Unfortunately I can't even rep you as apparently I've repped you already.

If someone goes to the gym because they actually like it, not just to look 'buff' then I won't mind. I like a guy who doesn't really care too much about his looks. Although a nice, toned body is a plus, the former is much more important

I don't think it matters too much if they're in good shape already. It's good to know a guy likes to take care of his body though.

Neg rep is coming for this. It's coming, I know it is.

Most of the people on this thread are out of shape, ignorant and arrogant - ignorant in that they have no awareness of physical health and its benefits, arrogant in their view of themselves and how they turn their noses up at people who try to better themselves.

I don't mind personally, as long as they are not morbidly obese

There are other ways to keep fit, other than going to the gym though, so i suppose as long as they weren't fat, what's the problem?

And the other half are just arrogant in thinking that by going to the gym they are better than those who don't.

You could call it all arrogance, or just accept that people have different opinions and values.

Not as silly as claiming anyone who plays sport regularly is "fit".

And you sound like an obnoxious tool! Why exercise if you can't indulge your need for the approval of others? Why indeed... Why read books if there isn't going to be someone handing you a ****ing sticker saying "SPECIAL BOY" at the end of it?
Calm down old chap, you sound like you're on the juice. I play hockey to a high level twice a week (matches), and train 2 nights a week. I also run the 100m in 11.5 seconds with no specialised sprint training whatsoever. I think I could comfortably give most gym neeks a run for their money over any distance.

I play sport for fun, for a challenge and for the glorious feeling of victory. I suppose I can see why some people might experience that at the gym, but personally I would (and have in the past) only use gyms as a means to an end if I was exceptionally serious about the sport I play (I used to be, now not so much), not for the sake of looking 'buff'. I'm not claiming to be ripped but a) I have no desire to be, b) I don't see the point and c) I'm perfectly happy with my physical appearance.

If you don't want a good body, you're not sane. Go ask Adler.
If you want a good body, your insane! It doesn't matter how buff you are when your redundant meat sack is being eaten by maggots 6 foot under.

The widely agreed philosophy is make the most of life.. If you define that as 'keeping fit, hitting 90 and succumbing to dementia with your only memory being how many miles you clocked up on a stationary bike then it ****ing sucks to be you.

I think its weird, guys should always look their best be healthy, make an effort with appearance and have the abilityto attract looks

    I wouldn't care.
Doesn't mean anything to me... I find the gym boring anyway, and I find it funny when guys spend waaaay too much time at the gym and make a point of telling you that they're going to the gym... who cares!

I am going to assume that you are being insincere.

    Good day to you Sir.

    This thread=
    1. Girls who feel they can't get hench guys who will say they prefer skinny guys
    2. Girls who are honest and admit to prefering hench guys.
    3. Lads who will say they don't have to impress but obviously would have more ease pulling if they were bigger.
    4. Lads who hate bigger lads because they're too insecure to hit the gym and justify it as being because they're not gay and are most likely virgins.
    5. Lads who hit the gym and are hench.

    I couldn't give a **** because I'm not shallow and I don't judge on a guy's lifestyle choice.

Probably because you can't get a guy who is buff.

    they're lesser men.
Don't bother offering an argument. Clearly, your point was so self evidently correct that it did not need justifying.

In fact, in future, why not just not say anything at all.

Can't afford it, lazy git, doesn't care about image.... etc etc
Really? Because I never visit the gym.

I do, however, spend my weekdays doing manual labour. So I can afford the gym, and I'm far from lazy because I'd be a **** builder if I was. I'm also not as shallow as most people out there, thus my image is something I like, not something I think everyone else would appreciate.

You try knocking up 8 ton of concrete then telling me you want to go to the gym

I personally prefer it. Can't stand blokes who spend every spare moment trying to get a six pack.

    But that's my personal opinion.
