Do I detect a note of resentment there Jools? Have you ever been interviewed for The Times or Times Educational Supplement?
No. But The Times did steal something parts of something I wrote word to word - Fresher Prince of Oxford Belles, and Times Higher used the story on their back page promising to pay and never did.

If you're referring to The Times Higher Education Supplement (THES), that's a separate publication of the same company, not in The Times newspaper. Otherwise you mean the Education section of T2.
Yeah I know, doh! Ah well I'm in the press on a sort of wide scale

Maybe I'll scan it and show you all. Unless it's too big to scan, we'll see.

I was due to have an article published once, but it was rejected at the last minute due to it being too 'controversial'. Bah. They wouldn't know controversial if it kicked them up the arse.

I'd be interested to see it. Considering I'm in Australia and all.

Perhaps if you'd introduced yourself beforehand

Sad thing is, my school actually did that. Being a private school in a fairly rural area, we did't have many ethnic minorities; almost all the school was white, with one black girl (my roommate in the year of the story) about 3 Asian kids and quite a few Chinese/Taiwanese people in the 6th form. So in one particular publicity shot (advertising our "diverse community" or something, they put all of them in, with a few white faces scattered in.

Fair enough, I'm not saying that they shouldn't have been in the photos, but it kinda gives a misleading idea of what the place was really like!
You must have a token black guy in everything now.

Btw. My mum gets the TES. Its what all teachers get if they want a job. There are about 3 sections worth of jobs, its crazy.

I'll try to get it here, I've been told I'm getting a copy so at least I'll see it. If not I'll post extracts.

You know, if it's a reasonably big article it may make it onto the TES website

Everytime a newspaper comes to a school and tell you that you will be in their paper, they are most likely lying. There is a small chance they might actually print something you said, and an even smaller chance they will print the picture.

Surprisingly it happened at our school.
