I absolutely love her. Her album contains some of the greatest songwriting of the last few years (and some classic Eno backing vocals at the end of 'Desire'). Then there's the weird noises she coaxes out of her guitar, and that voice, so rich and seductive. It seems natural for a Bowie fan like myself to love her whole style, too.

The first time I heard 'No More Words', I couldn't help but fall in love with her voice. There aren't many songs that have left me sat in the dark with my jaw dropped in astonishment but there aren't many songs like that.

I found her work through Brian Eno. I'm pretty impressed by her debut album, but I'll admit I was skeptical at first. I've noticed that I generally don't enjoy much recent female music (apart from the amazing PJ Harvey's "Let England Shake"). The music industry desperately needs someone like Anna Calvi! She is unique, and the album is passionate, rich and deserves the critical acclaim. I personally give it 4/5 Stars.

It frustrates me to no end that the media feels they need to compare female artists to one another.
