Hi, I'm feeling really awful at the moment. I just do not understand food/bacteria etc because sometimes I tell myself that my food fears are irrational and then I'll google them and they won't be irrational at all.

About 2 hrs ago I ate a few spoonfuls (about 2 or 3) of pasta (just pasta with tomato sauce from a jar) and then realised that the particular saucepan of pasta had been left out on the side since I cooked it about 8 hours ago. I've been feeling a bit dodgey since but don't know if it's just psychological. I googled it to see if it's ok and apparantly it's bad to leave food out the fridge for more than 2 hours but some sources say up to 8 hours might be ok.

I'll be on a looong flight this time tomorrow and cannot afford to be ill! I'm really worried and frustrated with myself. Will I be ok? And just say it does mess with my stomach a bit, do you think the effects will wear off in just over 24hours? Especially as I only ate a few spoonfuls? Thanks

Also, I just wondered if anyone else had food worries like this? I just find it so overwhelming how there are so many things that can make a person ill

I think you should be okay. It wasn't alot that you had and with it being pasta I don't think there can be that much wrong with it to cause bad illness.

Isn't it good for you to push things a little bit sometimes, builds up immunity?

Btw, if you have food anxiety, do not eat the salad on the plane.

That made me laugh. Plane food is definitely not something I'm looking forward to!

Not sure about the immune system thing, I thought that was just with virus' not bacteria? Not sure though

Anyway I might be able to sleep now, thanks for the comments.
