What are the prospects of moving from a central bank to a sales or trading position in a BB investment bank?

Would is count in your favour or against one.

For economist / strategist / research roles in banks, I would imagine that experience at a central bank would be a strong positive.. depending on the role you had in the CB and what kind of research you want to do within the IB.

For S&T I'm not sure how it would be perceived.. perhaps the experience could be beneficial in trading macro, but it may not be considered so relevant, especially compared with others with direct IB experience?

I read somewhere that the Bank of England often loses economists to the private sector, obviously due to the better pay.. whether or not these guys go into trading is another question, but I get the impression the economists there are quite sought after..
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
