I'm currently in Year 11 and need help trying to pick my fourth AS subject. I want to be a doctor therefore I have chosen:

    1. Chemistry
    2. Biology
    3. Maths

What fourth subject with go well with these, bearing in mind that I would like a subject that is different and not logical/ science based and fun and also give me a good chance to get into medicine. Suggestions would be appriciated.

    Thanks for the help!

History or English, it develops skills that those three can't. Essay writing and debate for one.

you don't need maths.....*just saying as I get the feel you've only chosen it for that reason*

and have history as your 4th....its an amazing subject and looks good at certain unis cos you have the contrast....

and its nice to come away and do something completely non-sciency

go for a humanity or English, they diversify from Science which Med schools like but are also pretty hard which shows you can put a lot of effort in

History, geography, economics, English Lit. They are strong academic subjects which will help you to develop essay writing skills and teach you how to spell fourth properly, especially if you're going to put it in bold.

A language would be quite useful, perhaps Latin if you do it at the moment by any chance.

Pretty much any other subject would be suitable seeing as you've ticked the main boxes. I'd say go for something that's not a science though; med schools do like to see some diversity in subject interests.

I'd recommend doing an essay based subject like history or something a bit different like a language as unis love them and either of those two would show a bit of variety. Do something you're good at and will enjoy!

Yup, I think I'll have to choose English Lit. I really enjoy it, but the problem is im not very good at it. I know if I revise hard enough I could get an A/A*, but according to current grade mock result I am on a B+. Well it all depends on the exam now........sigh. Thanks for the help guys x
