It's basically judging something you haven't experienced. How can you judge something you have never experienced?

Do I need to experience AIDS to judge whether having AIDS is better than not having AIDS?

Because most of the bad things that have happened in my life led me to something good.

I'm not a "everything happens for a reason" preacher but that certainly seems to be the case in my life.

So until this is no longer the case, I have no reason to be unhappy (apart from the usual down/moody days :p:).

What's to be unhappy about though? I don't have anything to be unhappy about. I'm going to Uni soon so I have the enjoyment of not only making new friends, being independant from my folks, going to parties, finding my 1st love, but also the pursuit of my future career as a children's nurse. And people are always going to need nurses so I'll hardly find I'm ever struggling to get a job.

And if you play your cards right and save whatever money you can then who says you can't have a financially secure life? Who says you can't have a decent house and a comfortable life? Somethings got to give eventually, there'll come a point where people will stop being able to pay for things like fuel, the government will end up forcing their own hand in dropping the prices of things we the people will stop being able to afford. This country will eventually come out of debt, even if it takes a decade. And then we'll get our feet back on track.

But in the meantime why should we spread negativity around and affect other people by being negative ourselves? Unlike you, I have hope for a better future. Your life might turn out ****, but mine won't...

I wonder how many of you will feel the same when you are out of Uni and in some dead end job.

I'm always happy. I spend my entire life looking at the positive side of life, taking each day as a new one, forgetting about the **** that may have happened yesterday. Live your life as an unhappy mess if you want, I'll find the positives in everything. I find my life is A) Much more fun that way and B) Its a lot easier to get up in the mornings thinking, "Yeah, today should be really good!"

If you want to be down, do so. But its a lot nicer to be happy, cheerful and generally hold a positive outlook on life. Granted, there are some situations where its harder, but these are few and far between. :yep:

Meh, maybe I'm just weird, but I'd take being weird at the expense of holding a positive outlook on life.
    You sound like a nightmare.

Sucks that you're in a dead end job... why don't you try and change that?

Meh, I probably am to a lot of people. Still, as I said, I'd much rather live life being happy, rather then sulking, moping and generally being down.

If you expect each day to be ****, then you're always pleasantly surprised at the end of the day when it was good.

Of all the things that could be wrong with you, you're worried about debt and other such laughable crap?

All I say is: I know people in South Asia and Africa who'd kill, many times over, for even a tenth of your quality of life.

People need to be more grateful.
    so true...

Of course we'd all like to have good jobs, but the stats say that most of us won't.

Other people are very happy too, but I'm a bit worried because some people have a temporary sense of happiness :s People need a happiness that cannot be taken away.

I've got two words for you my friend: HAKUNA MATATA!!

But seriously- why spend your life miserable? It won't solve your problems. Best to look at the bright side and get on with it! Never know you might, just might, make a difference and make the future a bit better for yourself and others.

Or, why aren't more young people depressed? Look at the future you are facing. Bad jobs on low pay for the majority, no real security and lots of debt. It amazes me that more youngsters AREN'T miserable. Don't you care? Or are you in denial about all this and relying on the bank of mum and dad?
Things only look bad if you compare them to just before the recession hit. Our standard of living is very high compared with any time other than a couple of years ago. Again, pay is, historically speaking, very high, and people have a large amount of disposable income to spend on leisure activities. Unemployment if relatively high, but not historically high. And it will go down. We have better healthcare, better education and better opportunities than almost any time in history.

For some people, life in this country is still very hard. For the majority it is reasonably comfortable. So why be depressed?

I don't know how you misconstrued it but I didn't say all black women were unattractive, I know some really beautiful lovely black girls, however the majority I know are rude, loud and obnoxious hence why I don't find them unappealing. If were a lot less catty I'd find loads of black girls attractive.

Sorry, just trying to help. If you want to stay depressed for the rest of your life...feel free.

    Well I hope I helped a little x
Of course I don't fricking want to be depressed, but I am just going through quite a few disappointments in life, that have got me to the point of giving up being optimistic.
