I had my first ever job interview at the card factory. My interview consisted of a woman chain smoking by the door and saying she 'didn't appreciate any *****iness in the shop' and 'everyone has to do their fair share of work on the shop floor and the till, not just the floor' it was ridiculous, then I just had to give her my CV and that was that. I didn't get the job.

I have never had an interview at card factory though i had given in my cv to them once. However I have had interview in shops like home and bargain, Wilkinson's, pound land, and was successful. Although the jobs aren't in the same shop, i'm guessing the interview will be the same as mine was also a shop, also retailing and therefore there both in the same department. The interview and lead up to it goes like this

Go in 5-10 minutes early, wearing black shoes, black pants, smart shirt

Once in store display a positive, happy, confident attitude, even if your nerves are ****ed as mine were though i tried to hide it

Once in the interview your employer may ask you why you would like to work for their company, what you can bring to the business, and of any other previous work you may have done. they may also want to check your background history, ie, criminal records e.c.t.

Remember! people get an impression/opinion of a person within 15 seconds of meeting them so go and make a good impression. good luck, quote me later and tell me how u get on.

You could try doing a bit of research into litho printing and then wow them with your knowledge of plates, finishing, spot uv, foil blocking and the three main types of paper - Gloss, Silk, Matt and Offset (Uncoated). It might be useful since you are working with paper anyway and selling them only jokin

    ...how should i dress?
The best way to think is ALWAYS dress smart no matter what the job is. You'll never be caught out if you always dress smart, after all, first impressions DO count.

    Good luck!
