...some Chopin. Just picked up a CD of his first two Piano Concerti and I love them.

Rachmaninov is still my favourite though.

Just about any Chopin is good. Classical music is something I'm very thankful to my father for. Favourite piece would have to be Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata or the ever popular Fur Elise.

I like the Goldberg Variations, played by Glenn Gould. But actually I'm more into harpsichord music, mostly Bach's and Scarlatti's works.

Ooh yeah, love Bach and his stuff with the Harpsichord (sp) However if you ever get the chance, check out Julian Lloyd Webber's Variations 1-4. It was a piece written by Andrew Lloyd Webber to combat the claims that he could never hope to compose any decent music. I feel he rose to the challenge and won convincingly with that one. Rather good stuff.

Best piece of classical music?

Easy... the Finale to Bach's Ct Matthew's Passion.
