Oh I went to visit my friend at Durham and went to Klute... had "the illegal drink", it was amazing haha!

From my limited experience I'd say:

    1. Nottingham
    2. Leicester
    3. Essex
    4. Durham
    5. Suffolk
    Whats the illegal drink ?

How can you not include London on that list?!
London as a city isn't that great for students, you'll be paying through your ass for nights that aren't as good as other places.

However if you include London and its SUBURBS, then it wins by a lightyear

Might be going to Essex.. Is the nightlife good? Or is it just hyped up by television shows? Oh and as others have asked.. What is this illegal drink ?

Wind Street in Swansea is pretty great, although this is a difficult thing to rank unless you've lived in several different cities. I'd imagine Newcastle/Manchester et al. are pretty fantastic though.

Essex is hyped up and Colchester hasn't got that 'Essex' feel. However there is plenty of bars to choose from and a couple of nightclubs so you'll be fine!
