    Hey everyone,

I was just wondering if anybody knew if my following question is possible:

I have a friend who is a U.S. Citizen, who wants to live and work in the United Kingdom for at least 3 years. It is very difficult for her to gain a job which will give her a visa to stay and work. However, her uncle is an Italian citizen (through marriage). Is it possible for to gain Italian citizenship through her Uncle?

    Cheers for any advice,

I'm not familiar with the specifics for Italy, I've only looked into this for Ireland, but from what I understand pretty much all countries require you to be a direct descendant (child or sometimes grandchild) of someone with the citizenship that you wish to claim. Uncle just doesn't cut it.
