Some of the courses I've looked at for marine biology/ ecology/ oceanography etc have said something such as biology + 1 from chem/math/geog/phys/enviro studies.

Am I more likely to get onto this course if I'm doing biology and chemistry and maths and geography (which I am at AS currently, although I might drop maths at the end of this year) as opposed to someone that's done biology chemistry and two other random subjects or would it depend on if these other two random subject were 'soft' or 'hard' ????

assuming we get the same grades that is?

To me your question answers itself :/
