    Hey all.
I was wondering how real fur scarves etc. were made, I don't want one - I am actually just curious about the whole process (especially how they did it before factories and stuff) - google just throws up how to wear them which I don't really need.

    Thanks!

    Off topic.

Eugh PETA. The biggest hypocrites in the world.

On Topic. I believe the skin is removed with the fur still attached, and was then treated with some sort of natural glue.

Esp the footage of the guy smashing the poor creature to the floor- they zoomed in on the animal's face and there was so much pain in its eyes; completely as if I was witnessing human suffering. Cannot understand why people would want to buy the product of such suffering.

How so? Can you give some examples?? I am totally unaware of it and even though I am not an active supporter of PETA I think that if what you are saying were true it would have come to light by now.

Google Bear Grylls sheeping bag, although I suppose that is wool but the principles the same.

I haven't seen that one... although I've watched the one where he eats the grub on repeat many times.
My nan has a mink and a fox scarf that she keeps trying to give me. I hate them because they both still have heads and arms and legs (also because I don't really like fur, but these are particularly repulsive.)

Here's a process of how they turn pelts into fur clothing you see around:

Before this stage though they'd skin an animal, normally it's been killed first but I've seen pretty horrific videos of animals being skinned alive.
