I am tempted to take both of these at A level, how well do they link? I'd imagine content is different but the skills are quite similar. Also any information from anyone who took either would be great just a review of how you found the subject. Also if you study modern history how linked is it to the GCSE Russian topic (Tsar Nicholas II-Stalin) and the USA divided union (McCarthy - Protest)?

Also would they combine well with English (combined) and Economics/Business Studies???

    Thanks in advance,

    Anyone please?

I do both of these. Both link fairly well, however the needed skills are not the completely the same. Also, do not believe that Government & Politics is an easy subject. It is not, and there is so much you must learn, including following current events which examiners expect you to use in the exam! There is a lot to memorise in both, and good writing skills, in particular for History is needed. They are both interesting though, and if capable I recommend taking.
