As with any profession, some lawyers are great and others are not. Some lawyers have been truly inspiring figures standing up for justice - Clarence Darrow, anyone?
Better add Lord Denning there as well, even if he was known more as a judge.

You are too stupid to enter into conversation with. You appear to have taken your extreme right wing "politics" as being representative of "most people". This is incorrect.

I hope you die in a fire. Quite genuinely

wow. what a classic carpet chewing, hysterical 'leftist' response.

no wonder socialist governments always end up murdering 10s of millions of their own people...........

you rabid pitch fork waving extremist!!

I bet you watch Top Gear and say things like: "It's political correctness gone mad", "They were better off as part of the British Empire" and "An eye for an eye."

    Am I correct?

Also, what are the connections between left-wing politics, carpets and pitch forks?

Earlier, Muslims were waving pitch forks. Is there a connection?

Sure. It certainly doesn't read like my post struck a nerve!

    A moment ago I was a socialist, now I am a fascist?

You don't seem to know much. About anything.

And you have the nerve to describe me as hysterical.

In future I would advise that you stick to topics about which you are well informed.

    Points deducted for:

-Using "National socialist" synonymously with "fascist" and switching between them to suit your point.

    -Using the phrase "communist socialist"

-Asserting that "national socialist" and "communist socialist" are the "same thing":

Assuming that by "communist socialist" you mean an adherent to the principles of the Communist Manifesto; the former believes in the glorification of the state, whilst the latter hopes that it will wither away. Such positions are diametrically opposed.

    -Misrepresentation of my point:

I called for you to "die in a fire". I did not express a desire for anyone but you to experience such a fate. You have made yourself, quite expressly, an enemy of human rights and, as such, a threat to many of the values that I hold. I did employ hyperbole in calling for your death as a means of expressing how repugnant your views are.

I decided to study Law as I wanted to do some good in the world, promote justice and human rights, defend the innocent etc. Unfortunately I have discovered first-hand that it's not like that. I wanted to do something where I felt I could make a more valuable contribution, and so applied and have been offered a place to study medicine next year

Many of my friends are going into law, but are doing it with their heads not their hearts, and that wasn't for me.

I HATE the generalisation about lawyers being money grabbers.

Heres a situation: I have cancer and other several medical problems, my hospital won't give me **** and my doctors don't care, i might die and a lawyer will provide that my family gets what i deserve due to my death. I'm sick of people thinking that doctors are great and ever so beneficial, because, they're not. I could easily say most doctors are useless, but that's generalising. People need to seriously begin doing their research before they talk.

Our understanding and development is due to science, but to be able to maintain a society, give people their rights, develop our justice system and our understanding of human psychology and the world, we need Law, politics etc. Lawyers are NOT useless, some maybe money grabbers, but some give a ****. Just like doctors. So the reason why people think they're not as useful, is because they're ignorant and find it easy to generalise, though i do understand that sometimes lawyers DO go to the extent of lying for money.

But yeah, doctors are important, as are lawyers. Doctors in my opinion are important, GOOD DOCTORS not the 'money grabbers'. But so are lawyers, but doctors are always one step ahead of lawyers. The two: medicine and law, go hand in hand. Doctors are sometimes restricted from doing things, like the history of abortion and sometimes lawyers need the professional advice of doctors in certain cases.

Sorry, this is just an incoherent rant.

I see that you edited this. And yet it still reads like it was written by an 8 year old, or at best, a 15 year old with learning difficulties.

What the hell did it read like before you edited it?

Because the social value of curing ailments as a straightforward formula for alleviating human suffering is generally held to be self-evident (and thus universally understood), whereas the inherently abstruse nature of jurisprudence renders it inscrutable to all bar a select few. This unfortunately gives rise to suspicion, mistrust and a general misunderstanding of the necessity of due process on the part of precisely the kind of imbecile who, paradoxically, would stand to benefit most of all from representation by someone capable of framing a coherent argument and couching it in suitably technical language (e.g. when their neighbour's cat defecates on their azalias).

In summary: lawyers are vilified because the majority of people are simplistic, superficial, bloody-minded cretins, and this is exactly why a world without lawyers scarcely bears contemplation.
