Looked at STA cashcards. They look alright.. I'm just wondering, is there any way I can access my money abroad without being charged for it? How do other people handle their money on trips that involve many currencies?

All banks charge for withdrawing money abroad.

Nationwide has the cheapest charges, though. Open up a Nationwide current account.

Credit cards are your best option, as above if you really can only go for debit then Nationwide are the cheapest, but only marginally... Even preload cards (FairFX) are better than debit cards though - they should be a last resort...
