Hi fellow Tsrs!
I am buying my second car and have a budget of around 4000 pounds for the said new car; could stretch this by another 1000. This doesn’t include insurance, just the car purchase price.
Anyway, I was quit keen on getting a Mercedes A-class; because I thought it looked quite cool, turns out, I am wrong. All my friends insist it’s a girly/gay car!!??(No offence to anyone) Everyone seems quite keen on Volkswagen golf.
So I wanted to get peoples opinion on if the A-class is indeed too girly for guy, and my any other suggestions on which cars I should be looking at? The cars have to be Japanese or German. As one’s parent insists that these tend to be mechanically sound.
Any suggestions much appreciated!

Tbh I find the a class a bit girly (and I'm a girl) but that doesn't stop a few men driving it. The golf in my opinion is a neutral car but it's way more common than the a class. Just get a car that suits you-one that you feel comfortable in not one you feel fits the social norm as you're going to be te one driving it
Edit: you could look at a mini or jeep wrangler or something but if I were you, I'd get the a class because you like itLast edited by Naomiimoan; 10-04-2011 at 22:28.

Reviews for the A-Class are ok - http://www.carbuzz.co.uk/Mercedes-A-Class
Have you considered a VW Polo, or Skoda Fabia. Much better cars imo

i think the current generation a-class looks alright, in 3door guise anyway. still would not get one though, many better alternatives. audi a3 for starters.
