Question on parabolas

Hi there, alittle confused with what I have to do on Q 9 a) ii):

Put one end of your ruler on (-2,0) and rotate it until it is tangent to the parabola.

lol Ive done this but how do you know if the two lines are tangents? Ive just drawn two straight lines that go either side of the parabola.

Because they only touch the parabola, if you've drawn them correctly.

Yeah thats I've drawn. So Im assuming it would be correct?
