So there's this girl that i've known for practically my whole life, but only recently have i started to get feelings of attraction towards her. for the last few weeks we've been hanging out together a lot, and our conversations have become a lot more flirty. the problem is that i think she sees me more as a younger brother. there's also the fact that she's two years older than me even though at this moment in time i'm 17 and she's 18. i'm not sure whether i should ask her out on a proper date. if she says yes then great, but if she says no then things might become awkward and 12 years of friendship might go down the drain. I would really appreciate any helpful advice. thanks

I don't think you should you should ask her out, I think you should test the waters a bit and throw in a few hypothetical situations and see how she reacts and make the decision to ask her out after her responses
