hi, a bit of an odd query: back in June 2008, I sat the Edexcel C3 exam (I was on the OCR syllabus but missed my C3 retake due to severe illness, and took the Edexcel merely to prove my knowledge to unis as it had largely the same content). Does anyone know if I would be able to sit 5 other modules (C1, C2, C4, S1, S2) this May/June, and combine them with my 2008 C3 to obtain a full A-level? Or would I have to sit that module again along with the others?

Any info you could give me would be much appreciated.

I think you have to sit all units within a 2-year period so I'm guessing that you'd have to sit C3 again.

Yes you can do that. There is no time limit.

The specification hasn't changed since 2004/5 and there is no time limit, so yes you can include your C3 mark in an A level.

Did you complete AS Maths with OCR? If so, you can carry that forward to an Edexcel A level. It has to be the whole AS, not just one or two modules, and you have to be careful about which applied modules you can combine. Ask your school exams officer to investigate.

Yes you were right, they finally got back to me stating it would be fine, but I need to locate my UCI number (have contacted the college for that). My apologies for not having faith in you in the first place!

I did a whole A-level with OCR, and took this exam in my retake year. Interesting that you can do AS with OCR, and then progress to an A2 with Edexcel - how strange!

It's to cater for people whose family move and so they end up at a different school who do a different specification.
