    I don't see why a uni should be able to kick someone out for not attending, you're paying them a lot of money to be there. You can't kick a crappy lecturer out when they don't turn up or give a boring lecture and you're paying for them.
    Because universities are meant to be selective institutions providing education to those who actually want it, not those who CBA to go into a job and see uni as an easy way out of working for another few years.

    He may have wanted it to begin with and found he didn't like the course, had external problems etc. Regardless its his choice if he doesn't want to attend, maybe he's one of those annoying people who cruises through life but manages to scrape through, everyone must have someone on their course who doesn't go in much but does alright in exams. I think 90% of people who go to uni are putting off work and having a good time as one factor in their decission to go. Its not like anyone doesnt have the option unless they are severly stupid.
