    Hi.

I'm taking my French oral exam after Easter and doing the debate on a potential Burka ban in England.

Could anyone give me some ideas of words to use in the debate?

Could be in English or French...

For example words like oppression, male-dominated society etc.

    Thanks

    Is this the Edexcel exam?

Either way, one of my friends is doing a debate on the burka. If you don't know the translation of a word during the exam find a way of expressing it differently. For example, instead of looking up a definition of "male-dominated society", you could get around it by saying it in a different way. That way, you can show off even more vocabulary and waste several seconds!

Also have in mind opinion expressions, not just confined to "Je pense que...", and try to include statistics to reinforce your view. Bonne Chance!

    Thanks man.

I'm trying to find statistics but it's pretty hard due to the lack of British women who wear Burkas coming out in support/against it. I know than in France roughly 2000 actually wear it, but in Britain I think it's a bit more?

Have you researched both French and British news articles? Using both sources should give you enough stats to help reinforce your argument.

Yeah I've researched both. And it's edexcel.
