you can be articulate when you choose to be, no age limits. it takes practice though.

and confidence should be untouchable. no one gets to decide how you feel about yourself or anything else!

If you aren't perfectly confident and articulate by 18, its probably safest just to an hero.

You become articulate through practice, and it's also very much a sliding scale. You get better as you practice more, age and maturity has very little to do with it.

Confidence is the same. It comes from the realization that:
    a) The result of your actions is rarely as bad as you believe it might be.
    b) Even if the result of your actions is that bad, you can handle it.

This realization comes from experience. To gain the experience you have to shut your eyes and jump off the cliff so to speak. Every time you hit the water at the bottom, you get more confident. If you hit a rock, you go to hospital, recover for a while then go right back and jump off that cliff again.

P.S. The cliff is a metaphor, tombstoning is baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaad. Confidence and stupidity are different.
