Who knows? Just...whatever feels right. There's no set time, it depends on what sort of people you are and how you get on.

i used to be someone who is like "been friends for over Xmonths, can never happen" until i dated one of my really good friend this year (we've known eachother 1yr before this)...so yeh, it can work... (although you should know in my case we split after 3 months)

Id say dnt b friends first but dats just my opinion. Every time i think il b friends b4 i ask them out, i feel i cant do it as i hav become close n wud rather stay friends then risk loosin it.

It's really hard to say... with my boyfriend right now, we were friends for a month, but during that month we saw each other almost every single day and we clicked really fast. sooo... I would just say whatever feels right to you. Try to get to know the other person to see if you guys would be good together.

I would definitely suggest doing that though. When your boyfriend is also your best friend... it's great. :smile:

I was friends with my current boyfriend for over a year before you we got it together, but we've been together for almost a year now. Being friends first is a good thing, but don't worry too much.

i jumped in far to quickly with my ex i starting going out a day after i met him, if i would have made mates first i wouldn;t have been out with him as he wasn;t a nice person!!

id say when you feel it would be right id love to be mates with a guy and slowly take it into a relationship i bet it feels alot better being in love with them then someone you hardly know!!

I was really good mates with my boyfriend for three years. It wasn't until after that that we became closer and actually became sexually attracted to eachother. If you're already attracted to the bloke you're talking about i think it would be ahrd to just remain friends for a while. Just spend time with him and see how it goes. There's no rule saying you have to be friends first. That can be awkward actually. I know every little detail about my boyfriend and his ex. Lovely. xx

i was friends with my boyfriend for a year before we started going out... when you reallly really get to know someone first and then move onto the more sexual/physical side it can be perfect... the sad thing is that if it works really well for ages and then you split up it'll be near impossible to be friends again. i cant imagine it anyway... but i say just get to know him quite a bit so you know hes worth it and then go for it!!
