    Arvo = afternoon.

On christmas day last year the car in front of me span out of control doing about 80 mph on the motorway. It rolled sideways across 3 lanes of traffic and ended up on the embankment at the side of the road. Incredibly no-one was hurt!

Does leave you feeling a little shaken though!

I saw a crash on a motorway last summer. I wasn't driving at the time (just learning, my dad was driving the car). It seemed relatively fine, a nice summers day, not many idiots around and then suddenly we see this Land Rover in front hit the embankment that was beside the hard shoulder and turn over, it spun round and then finally came to a halt in the middle lane. The cars around braked quickly, I was surprised it didn't turn into a bigger accident. it was unbelievable to see a car the one minute driving smoothly and then suddenly turn over like that, looked like something you see in a film, my dad said in all his years he's never seen a crash that close up.

I've been driving for a few months now and luckily haven't come across any crashes (worst thing I've seen is someone reverse into a lamppost) but that crash just made me realise how dangerous driving on the motorway(and driving overall) is a very dangerous thing.

I've witnessed many accidents..... one of the most horrific of them was following behind a car transporter that lost it's load on the M25. That was quite scary as it was the first time ever I t-boned into a car...... was a brand new Mercedes.

I was in India and one of the bus driver accidentally ran over a cyclist. I was about 100 meters in my car and I saw the cyclist brain on the road , his skull was cracked open. I still have those visual images embedded in my memory.

thas pretty grim, indias like the best place to see accident tho lol theres turned over lorrys everywhere. i saw a motor cyclist driver into the side of the rickshaw and smach his head into the bars that u hold onto lol.

Anyways worst ive seen over here was a speeding car driving straight under a lorry, the whole front was crushed and i think the main driver died =/ guess thas what happens when your tailgating tho.

I was hit by a car on my motorcycle this time last year. Silly driver did a u-turn in front of me when i was going 30mph, don't remember anything after that haha. I got "muscle compression" in my leg and was generally bruised and beaten.

worst accident i witnessed was when someone fell asleep at the wheel on the M6. their car wandered across the lanes bounced off the central barrier, spun several times towards the hard shoulder then hit the beginning slope of a crash barrier at the start of an embankment leading up to a flyover. It got flipped by the barrier and rolled 3 or 4 times up the embankment ending up the right way up at the top. Worst bit was that no one was wearing a seat belt as they were all asleep in the car (including the driver lol) and the front passenger as the car rolled came half out the cars smashed in side window and i watched as her head and body smashed into the ground as the car rolled. Was 2 serious injuries and the girl was critically injured.

That wasn't a few months ago at the top of the M25 near the M11 junction by any chance? I had to go the wrong way round the M25 as they'd closed it anti clockwise, wasn't a fun journey!

I always have a phobia of caravans disintegrating in front of me, and I remember one time driving along looking at this caravan overtaking me thinking "Hope it doesn't disintegrate", as it passed me I saw a huge cloud of fiberglass and dust! It had exploded due to an air pocket!

In response to someones post a second ago, Land Rovers are very hard top tip over as they are bottom heavy, so god knows how this bloke did it.

are you now allowed to use abbreviations and slang on here then? im sure i used to get messages telling me i was naughty and not to do it lol!

on the m5 southbound, a car going northbound had its wheel come off.. was bouncing along the road hitting other cars, and the car came straight into the barrier towards us, never been so glad those barriers are there!

I'm sure I've seen Harriet Harman out and about, on her phone, crashing into things left right and centre (well, left anyway) and then driving off.

I've seen two. Both times it was blatantly obvious who was at fault. I pulled over and gave both of them my name and address and an impartial witness to stop the insurance companies playing funny buggers and going "50/50, can't prove who's fault it was". ****ing hate when they scam drivers like that. Only got called once to give an official statement though. How the **** an insurance company can dispute somebody hitting a parked car I have no idea. Cheeky *******s.

I remember this incident and thought how bizarre until this day it can still happen.

But no, the incident I was involved in was in 2004.

Worst crash i've witnessed was involving myself...

Although does it count as being a witness if you knock yourself out and a year later still can't remember anything about it?
    Motorbikes ftw...

Other than that i once saw a car pull out of a junction and another one hit it at like 30mph... Case of a guy just pulling out and not seeing the other car. Wasn't too bad though...

Now I can tell myself that my unease at being behind things like car transporters on the motorway is not irrational! Another thing I hate is when you see an artic pulling a wagon loaded with bales of hay which are strapped on. I just don't trust them!

A tractor with bales was turning out of where I live and a ford escort van crashed into the side of it!
