How good is this course and what sort of things do you do? I can't decide between this and English lit at Cardiff
I enjoy writing but I've heard bad things about creative writing courses in general

I would suggest that on the whole many creative writing courses are crap. The staff running the Bath Spa course look pretty sound, have a reasonable publishing history, which is always something to check. Hoever, it looks to me like a straight creative writing course (as opposed to eng lit + creative writing). I would steer well clear of it for that reason alone, partly because i believe the eng lit side to be vitally important to your development as a writer and because a straight creative writing course will give you zip job prospects. It also appears that is not mandatory to send a portfolio to get an offer, which is basically laughable and suggests that they are willing to take anyone who will offer them the money.

Eng Lit at Cardiff hands down, feet down...as many appendages as i can put near or on the floor. Do a creative writing MA afterwards if you want.
