    Hi,
I'm doing History as level with the topics France in Revolution and Britain and Appeasement.

Do we need to know historians interpretations for this exam or not as i am getting conflicting messages from my teachers?

    Thanks

You need to have a good knowledge of historical debate and alternate interpretations of key points in your time period but you won't need to ascribe them to any particular historian.

My teacher's been telling me that we have to say 'a marxist/feminist/whig(etc.) historian would say...'
I've always been doubtful about this. Is that what we have to do, and if not, what sort of things are we expected to say?

You can, but tbh, it's effort. I'm doing Charles I and theu whig/revisionist interpretations are boring, and are unlikely to gain me any marks.

I also do Totalitarian Ideology, and learning about varying interpretations of the Holocaust and Purges are very interesing though, so I remember it. May bring it in an exam.
