    What is the role of Sulfuric acid in the formation of HCL in this equation?

    Nacl + H2SO4 --> HCL + NaHSO4

    the answer is : a Proton donor


    But id dont understand, please can someone explain? many thanks!

    See how the chloride ion has bonded to a proton to form the HCl?
    That proton has come from the Sulphuric acid

    (I'm presuming you know the definition of a proton?)
