Ketones nomenclature

If we have a ketone with a branch (i.e; Methyl). Suppose that when counting from both directions of the ketone to see from which end we can reach the carbonyl group with less carbons, we found that it was equal.

Do we now depend on the direction from which we reach the branch with less carbons?

Yes, e.g. It would be 2-methylpentan-3-one rather than 4-methylpentan-3-one.
