    Nothing political, fortunately!

I'm working with the ICT Department for a year.
    Oh, ok.

    Still, very nice.
You need security clearance etc. for that, right?

Well if the idiot that designed it (Joffre I think or at least he proposed it) hadn't just though that Belgium and Luxembourg were 'safe' countries so relaxed the fortifications between the two countries, we would of had a better chance then again de Gaulle was more or less right about investing in more tanks, planes, soldiers etc

Well at least Hitler carried out the 'Schlieffen Plan' something the 'Kaiser' could not do
France is often looked over although they contributed significantly to the war effort against the Germans, for example we probably wouldn't have evacuated so many people if it wasn't for brave French divisions helping to fend off the Germans from Dunkirk as we evacuated our troops along with some French troops.

Gotta love politicians, they never fail to provide good jokes. Exposing something that most students do to some extent.

Urgh. I've been pushed from pillar to post by the NHS this week.

Nurse diagnoses diabetes. Books me in for blood test on Friday.

GP tells me I have kidney stones and precscribes nothing.

Out-of-hours GP tells me I haven't got kidney stones but have got a urinary tract infection and tells me to stop taking the anti-biotics for my ear and start taking some for my urinary tract instead.

He also seems very worried about my glucose levels and admits me to hospital and prescribes me Metformin and Glicazide to lower the levels.

Nurse at the hospital says there's nothing they can do until Monday afternoon (this is on Sunday evening) and tells me to go home.

GP this morning seems pretty nonchalant about my glucose levels, tells me to start taking the ear medication again and gives me a photocopy of a 1990 pamphlet called "Diet Advice for Diabetics".

She also books me an appointment for a blood test on Friday (so now I think I'm double booked for 2 blood tests on the same day). She says there's no need for me to see a diabetes specialist until after the blood test because even though she's certain I have diabetes she, well, I don't really know why not, she had a very strong mumbly Indian accent.

So all in all I am fed up with waiting rooms and am now taking 5 different types of medication. The combination of which I'm sure will kill me.

    Sorry to hear that.
My ex had/has kidney stones, she was in quite a lot of pain. Had to take a fair amount of time off work. Because she had pancreaitis as a baby any operation to remove the stones was risky.
    So yeah, it sucks.

Unfortunatly these things take time, the tests, check ups, operations etc.

    Best of luck.
