For those of you taking essay based subjects, do you come up with your own ideas for dissertation or are you given a list of topics to choose from?
We pick whatever we want, or from a list the supervisors have created (which we can play with if we want). Then we propose it, in which we have to pick our supervisors (up to 5 choices, then it goes into a pool).

We have Virgin Media - at first it was fantastic. Cheap, reliable and good. Now a days, however, our TV service is terrible. We should phone up and DEMAND our money back for a TV service we can't use.
The broadband has gone for me on VM. I hardly ever go a day without it randomly stopping working. Tried calling them as well, but their customer service is either crap or I'm stuck on hold for hours.
And for what they offer, they're not actually that cheap. My parents only pay marginally more for Sky+ and they get a lot more channels than VM offers and all the pause/record functions - you have to upgrade to the more expensive TV packages to get the vast majority of channels Sky has as bog-standard - VM's M+ TV is little more than Freeview.
I'm in the process of leaving them, which isn't easy. I wouldn't recommend Virgin Media to anyone tbh.

    :yy:

    Could get sky but

1/ Quite a bit in terms of initial cost
2/ They don't know if our lines are compatable for phone and broadband
3/ Their broadband has, from what I can tell, a limit.

We have Virgin Media, its had its problems but there customer service has always been good. Its Cheap, normally reliable unless I screw it up, and is good.

For example - our V+HD box is running slow because I may or may not have filled up the hard drive with Glee.

Although somehow I fixed the internet by putting a wireless router onto it. It somehow sped it up.

Got a Nintendo Wii by any chance? iPlayer etc. service on that is suppose to be pretty good.

Don't know a lot about IPTV personally...

Its a pain to set up though, and not really worth it because of that. You should try typing in a 10 character password that gets randomly generated by the Router and is full of Capital Letters and Numbers, with a Wii remote.

Out of interest - when PSN was down could you still get iPlayer etc etc?

I'm not sure about Xbox 360, but I know you can get sky player on there. Idk about iPlayer/4oD.

You choose and get it approved. However, my advice would be to go chat to a tutor or two who specialise in things you enjoy and get inspiration.

Need a fail-o-meter reading from you guys.

Was out at our Politics ball last night. Much drinking and discoing with lecturers was done, but strange things happened. A girl I'd never met before was there. I think she was probably the most beautiful girl in the room and I'm pretty sure my jaw dropped when I saw her. Turns out she's the ex of a mate of mine so I do a bit of covert asking around and find out that she's single and a good catch. I make sure he doesn't care and then get to work.

Two hours later, rubbish flirting on my part has gotten me a few smiles but basically nothing as she sits there occasionally texting someone. Clearly, I'm not interesting to her.

Fast forward another two hours and we're all pretty trashed. The girl I was after has continued being uninterested and has left but the girl who has been flirting with me all night is still there. Quite pretty, a bit crazy. We end up making out in a corner and do a bit of dancing before she essentially ditches me to go back to the group. Later on she leaves with a friend without so much as a by your leave.

    Fail-o-meter reading anyone?

Because she was peng, and would have been drunk enough to potentially change her mind at a later hour

 unless the girl finds you somewhat attractive and interesting you can forget it at least that is the way I take it but then again I have a schlong and am exotic and most girls in the area know that so

This is just my crappy opinion though.

So who has Band of Brothers on Blu-ray? I have it on DVD and I know the Blu-ray is excellent quality wise I am unsure whether I want to purchase it although the tin does look nice thoughts?
