How would they not have enough money? there are plenty of options for them to make rent and live on the essentials.
    Are there?

And if they also don't have enough money to rent a house or a flat? Do they "live" on the streets in your universe? And yet you libertarians wonder why I have a moral as well as ideological aversion to your kind. Not hard really.
No one said that anyone should be homeless. Your suggestion for local authority housing is merely papering over the cracks, you have to consider why house prices are inflating so much in the first place. Why is that person not earning enough to pay for rented housing... etc

Not just jump onto the bandwagon of 'social' housing.

Yes there is not only a standard job and benefits, there are 'other' jobs they can do to make a living

It isn't hard to make money but the work ethic in this country has been destroyed by this feeling of entitlement to live of the government and those that actually pay taxes.

So buy a plot in a field and build a wood hut then, cheap, easy and sustainable... just like we did before modern times

In the world populated by people of D.R.E.'s ideological persuasion there would not be any benefits. And there are not many jobs about either, the suggestion that people do "other" jobs to make a living is absurd.

Y'know, your "this country" routine has gotten very irksome. Don't like living in the UK that much, go live someplace else.

end the right to buy and create a right to shelter.

ban owning more than one house, allow local authorities to seize any unoccupied buildings or land to create more homes for people.

ensure everyone has a home regardless of finance, there is NO justification whatsoever for one man to own five homes and another to be living on the street, it is morally repugnant that our society accepts such a state of affairs imo.

    You for real?

Banning more than one house is absurd, why should I not be allowed a house in more than one location if I can afford it? I could rent it out to those that cannot afford a house but need somewhere to live... I would be proving a service there.

So give everyone a house even if they haven o money, no job and do not intend to make money and get a job? yeah not going to happen.

There is no such thing as society anymore.

Or perhaps recognise that societies have grown up in different contexts. There is a great deal of welfare dependence in parts Britain because those very same areas often developed as mono-industrial economies meaning that all of the jobs a family did were related either to the mine, the steel mill, the cotton factory, or the bicycle factory (for example). If that generation security disappears and then government interest disappears why are people living in those areas going to think they have a place in society that drives on and on in its London-centric mode? The only time you hear about Merthyr, Middlesbrough, or the worst parts of Glasgow are when the BBC or Channel 4 are doing an investigative documentary on poverty and deprivation. Otherwise they are forgotten areas.

People like you in their large, gated houses with private drives couldn't give a flying **** about what goes on in those areas. You just don't like sharing.

All of these things can be achieved, without going all Stalin-esque on us, through a tax on the value of land.

This is true but then again, it is my wealth that I created from my hard work so why should I have to give it to someone else?

because if you buy more than one home, you are taking that second home away from someone who needs it, you are just being greedy. yeah, sure, you seem so compassionate  why get you to do it, when the state can make sure that home is available to someone who actually needs it for free and without allowing you to profit from something as essential to human life as having a home.

So give everyone a house even if they haven o money, no job and do not intend to make money and get a job? yeah not going to happen.

yes. and just because you do not want it to happen does not mean that it cannot

    Stop being ****ing stupid.

There are a strong lack of jobs in the current economy. That is why a lot of people don't have much money and are on benefits.
