1 Pair of trainers  how do you last wearing the same day after day, don't you alternate between days?
Well I tend to wear walking shoes anyway (judicious shopping around scores me bargins normally) so that's not so much of a problem.

I've eaten far too much today. Including a takeaway pizza and various crap I justify buying to get me through revision - most of which is gone.
I had pizza yesterday. Contemplating various things from the local chicken/kebab/burger place.

Not true at all. They could have gotten said shoes anywhere. To assume immedietly they bought the shoes and therefore is less in need of money is just absurd.
No less absurd than many other things.

I've never really had more than a couple of pairs of trainers/casual shoes. It was only recently I bought like 5 pairs of converse-esque shoes.

    No need really.
There is a need for different pairs, you can't have clashes with your clothes

I have a pair of trainers and a pair of flip-flops. I have proper black shoes for when I very rarely need them.

    Yes you know:

You'll be fine, people will assume either that it's fake and consider you a chav or assume it's nicked and consider you a chav. Or, of course, nobody'll care.

I don't want to be considered a chav because I look after myself

Comfortable and cheap though, which is the main purpose of any shoe surely?

    No just no

Comfortable and stylish... although not always comfortable, price should not come into it.

How do shoes "look good"? They serve a purpose and nothing more.

No it should not, it inhibits your ability to pick out the best

Shoes are really the lowest of my priorities in just about everything.

As long as they have a decent enough sole to stop stuff going through the soles they'll do.
