I knew all of that except the last one I wasn't here when Nightowl was around.

I still want to know why iwilson disappeared so suddenly. I will never know.

    I have an idea...

Well for a start, we didn't have a channel dedicated to the pacification of children running from 7am to 7pm every day. We had cartoons for 90 minutes before school and then from 3 - 5:30 monday to friday after school. Then Live and Kicking on a Saturday morning. Or you could watch the disney programmes on CITV.

Also, note the sickening adverts about recycling and saving precious water and all the other south-east inspired insipid crap. If kids are to learn about the outdoors they actually have to go there, not sit in front of the telly with carefully concocted "mixed" groups of children doing faux-yoga (a la waybullo) learning makaton (a la something special) or simply just being taught how to be stupid and very pc (a la pretty much everything else).

Edit: I remember the first bar, of course!
I agree with this. I'm 17 and I didn't have the children's channels when I was young either, it's a relatively new thing.

And the groups of carefully concocted mixed children (as you put it) is just painfully obvious, and is perfectly demonstrated at around 2.26 of this video:

It's just so obviously constructed that way, it looks so fake and the need to have a token child from every background is obviously forced.

He wanted to get into IRL politics, and got paranoid about being on the internet ever.

    ??

I'm older than you and I remember the CBBC channel launching when I was young(ish). I even went to a special thing with my school for the launch.

Really? I don't remember watching it until I was a bit old for it...

It's scary how I agree with you on this.

The Green Balloon Club is an example of how kids get pumped up with stuff about saving the environment.

Not having the TV on 12 hours a day watching Me too, Teletubbies and, most godforsaken of all, Balamory (I hate Archie so much) would be a good start.

Speaking of children's TV, anyone else here got a Blue Peter badge? I have two. :awesome:
