If you like. But the point is people use neg in posts that are making a point and then completely fail to engage in a debate on those points which seems to me to completely miss the point. If we're all here to press little red and green buttons then we might as well remove the power of interaction and leave ourselves with that.
And what I said was that I'm more than happy to engage you in debate but in that particular instance there was absolutely no point because Simon took the words straight from my mouth. I didn't give you a negative post rating so much because I disagree otherwise I'd pretty much do nothing but give negative post ratings, I gave you it because what you wrote was pointlessly snarky and flame-bating.

Unless I'm not mistaken you are a different person from Simon so therefore the discussion I'm having with him at the moment will take a different course from one that I might, however unlikely that generally is, have with you. I don't care if you say the same thing, your next response is likely to be different since you have quite different personality traits.

Like I said in Ask a Tory, I'm not going to spend my evening arguing the toss about nothing with you. It's pointless, I think I'm right and you obviously think you're right. Instead I'm going to make some poached eggs :coma:

Yes. I've never really made the effort to acquire any of his music, being content to listen to the CDs of friends. Not being at Uni, this is impossible at the moment. Luckily Grooveshark has saved me.

My dad has pretty much every single one of his records including the live stuff. I went to one of his concerts once - my dad was in one of his father-son moments that have happened all of 3 times in my life! - which was disconcerting because my PhD supervisor was there too. I'm still not quite sure what to make of his music.

In all honesty I'm not an adoring fan. However, he has several great songs and few of his songs really push me away. I'm content with him.

Father-Son moments for me revolved around windmills. You've done well.

Well 1 Fish concert and 2 Billy Bragg ones. I suppose so. You probably have gone through the Marilion back catalogue then?

Well then I suppose the first place would be Marilion when Fish was there. I think it's a bit like Genesis when the one who left left. I dunno.

Hah, since the beginning of the year I've been negged by Teaddict more times than anyone else and (s)he still insists that I'm being presumptive in assuming (s)he doesn't like me. Right...
I neg you often because you are an arrogant swine.

Not necessarily. Just because you come across as an annoying, arrogant swine over the internet doesn't mean you are in real life.

Well I'm not intentionally any of those things, I just have no time for politics that fits into that far-right Tory, Norman Tebbit kind of bracket. But the same goes for Communists of the Socialist Worker Type to be honest. One Nation Tories I can get on with quite easily. But in real life I try and talk about other things which a forum such as this doesn't really provide for since it's polarised by political allegiances - hence our being here.

There in lies the problem.. If it's Tory right opinion you instantly disregard it with such contempt and arrogance... I don't think you are intentionally being an arrogant swine but you certainly come across as as one.

In fairness, opinions from the right of the Tory party are, generally speaking, idiotic. And it's not just the left that thinks that.
