I have recently been offered a commission only sales job (I just need to sign the agency agreement now) with a big nationwide company in the financial services industry. I've done my research and am happy with what I found and also I spoke to one of their current (by no means top) salesmen and he told me that its a good company and it has a lot of good stuff going for it and he also told me some of the downsides of the company.

What's your opinion of commission only sales jobs? Please try to substantiate your opinion with evidence. I don't want to hear "commission only is crap blah blah" without any substation.

Btw, I have worked on a commission only basis before and for a 18 year old I made a pretty damn good living!

Any of you on here currently work on a commission only basis? If you do send me a PM

It depends if you feel confident that you'll be able to sell the products. If you're travelling- can you afford the initial costs? I personally feel they are not a good option because they offer no stability and it entirely depends on your ability to sell things and the demand for the product or service.
