You don't have to tell people at application or interview, or at all.
Same as any job really. If people don't like it and want you out they will try and find ways to do it. But its about people emplying you. not the job, and thet will be different for different companies.
In some respects, it might go in your favour. Emplyoers somtimes bend over backwards to have theri token minority group members
