I'm currently on a February start course and long story short it's ok but I have realised there is a much better course for me personally which has a September start. I plan to see out year 1 of the February start which concludes at the end of June and move to the other course, at the same university, for year 1 of that in September.

I was just wondering if this is actually possible though? Would I incur any penalties financial or otherwise for leaving the first course, even though I saw the 'first year' out?

Basically, do I have anything to worry about or does my plan sound ok? I know student finance covers 4 years worth of courses, so I've used up my one and only 'life' in the sense of leaving the first course.

    Many thanks

    This is a common misconception.

Student Finance will fund the length of your course + 1 year minus any years previously funded.

You have enough funding left to complete your new course.
