    It's probably permitted, but I doubt the examiner will be best pleased and be less forgiving in their marking. you might get away with something backgroundey very quiet (probably not Will Smith then, even though he's super cool)...I wouldn't bother myself though...

    There are no rules saying you can't, but please remember that the radio can also be a distraction.

    I would advise that you have it at a very low volume as the examiner's instructions need to be heard clearly, especially over the noise of the aircon / open windows etc.

    If it gets to the point where the examiner has to raise his voice, he'll likely ask you to turn it off.

    Oh, and although it won't affect the examiner's marking, you still shouldn't get on his nerves, so avoid commercial stations with annoying adverts and jingles. There's nothing that makes an examiner want to stab a radio with a pen more than another bloody "gocompare" advert..
