Jose Mourinho was present at the press conference ahead of Real Madrid's clash with Barcelona but he might aswell not have turned up as he left assistant coach Aitor Karanka to do the talking as local press walked out in fury.

And although Karanka answered questions, the Spanish media boycotted the conference in protest, leaving a handful of non-Spanish journlists with the chance to ask the questions as Mourinho, ever the showman, sat in complete silence.

"Whenever the coach [Mourinho] speaks, everything is blown out of proportion," Karanka said, as he explained why Mourinho remained quiet.

"But we are not the ones making all the recent noise. It will not affect the game, and it's not the first time we have done this. It's just a way of working."

Whispers inside the press room suggested the coach showed a lack of respect to Madrid fans by not taking part fully. It was a claim swiftly rejected by Karanaka.

"The fans wants Madrid where we are now. Fans opinions can been seen in the Bernabeu and on the street," he said.

"The fans want a coach that is always fighting for every point.

"[As for the press walkout] I do not want to judge it as I represent Real Madrid."

View how low the attendances are? You must at least know who Halifax and FC United are. They actually get gates of 2k.

Don't know much about football do you?

Not knowing about a non-football league = no knowledge on football?

Cumulative audience of four Real Madrid - Barcelona clashes could surpass 350 million

The tradition of rivalry among both teams, the matchday & kick off time of the game, the type of broadcasters that hold rights of each game globally, the international reputation of the tournament and the city where the game takes place are just a few of the factors that were taken into account to predict the possible audience of each game.

Saturday's league match could attract up to 78m viewers as the clash loses value because of the importance of the meeting as the outcome isn't likely to affect the title race.

Wednesday's Copa del Rey fixture is expected to be viewed by 77m due to the lower reputation of the tournament and also with the final taking place on neutral terrain.

The second-leg of the Champions League semi-final could reach as much as 100m viewers globally, as the tie will most likely be decided on May 3.

However, the audience could be lower if one of the two teams records a big win in the first leg on April 27. 91m viewers are expected to tune in to the first leg due to the fact that there will be a return game the week after.

The first game is going to be a warm up, a loss at both ends won't mean much.

**** barcelona...I hope Real makes life difficult for them for a change.
Still a bit bitter, hey, Arsenal fan?

Don't worry, it's not all that bad. You can keep Fabregas.
