Being 31 when I go up in September, I wanted any recommendations as to which accommodation to pick. Similar age group and not to noisy. Any opinions would be gratefully appreciated.

Woolf. Full of postgrad students so with the amount of work alone they face, there isn't much partying going on.

If you can't get into Woolf then they're all pretty much the same. Just stay away from Parkwood and Eliot if you want a quiet life.

I know this is a bit late but for anyone who finds this post, I have had a few recommendations for a place called bower terrace. It looks ok but not sure about the age gap. This is the site: http://www.bowerterrace.co.uk/

Let me know if you have had any experience here

Do you agree with the proposed ban on plastic straws and cotton buds?
