Probably similar, but not sure. Depends if you're getting any signals back from him.
i'm in year 12 and i have a exchange assistant for french whos in his mid 20s..haha! imagine if girls started fancying him...

but back to you... if you want to get together with him... try to leave it out of school grounds if you can. i dont advise it to be honest, but..sometimes those urges are just too strong!

[QUOTE="Alas12"]Ok, please don't jump to conclusions from the title.

I'm an upper 6th foreign languages student, and I really[/I like the exchange assistant. Say I was to ask him out, (he is a few years older than me, at mid-20's), would he be bound by the same rules as regular teachers regarding relationships?Yes, he would...however, since you're 18, it's not illegal...it may be frowned upon by some, but it's not illegal.

If a teacher has a relationship with one of their students who is under the age of 18, they are breaking the law (as per some law passed a few years ago) and could face a prison sentence. As far as the law is concerned, the teacher is abusing trust that the student placed in him/her (hence why I said above that it may be frowned upon)...but since you're over 18, there's actually nothing illegal about it.

Yeah he would im afraid
I think he would because it would still come under 'abuse of a position of authority' or something like that...anyone that works with people under 18 is bound by it I think, even if the student themselves are over 18...
But I'm not positive- if you really do like him I suggest you wait until you're leaving the school, at least then there's not really a risk, if he says no, you don't have to see him anymore and if he says yes you're not out for the trouble of being with a memeber of staff.

If you're over 18 its legal, but still not accepted by most people.
