Being a single male in 30s and 40s? watch

I know a guy who was married at the age of 28 and got divorced at 36, has a young daughter aged 11 and both parents take turns to look after the child. They both have very good careers. He is now 40 and the woman is getting remarried to someone else. Does anyone find it unusual that the guy plans to live the rest of his life single while helping to raise his young daughter? I know he is old enough to make his own decisions, but what societal pressures/ responsibilities do you think he would be faced with?

social pressure not to show his head on TSR because he'll be roundly mocked.
