They - or whoever wins next month - will be forced to make massive spending cuts next year. They simply don't have a choice. By freezing council tax, keeping their universities free and giving out free prescriptions, I'd imagine that with the SNP in power the rest of Scotland will be closed down next year to compensate.

the leader of the conservative and unionist party breaking the union?

    I'm not so sure.
In terms of income. I'd like to see how long they last if the Scottish Budget was cut apart.

They're FAR better than the Labour party who have run Scotland as their own personal fiefdom for years. Glasgow and Edinburgh have such endemic Labour corruption it's ridiculous.

Anyway spending cuts will start happening next year. Personally I like Salmond; he is cunning and smart and far far more intelligent than the other B rate politicians we have. We'll see how he copes if he gets elected in the forthcoming months

Funding a country on a budget deficit is using tomorrows money. It has to be paid back in some form or another at some point.
But the SNP aren't running a deficit. They have been given a funding allocation from central govt - ie the coalition and are funding themselves on that and council tax.

If the coalition want to run a deficit thats upto them, but its not really the SNPs fault...

The SNP have done more for Scotland in the past 4 years than Labour or the Tories have done in generations. Independence is coming...

Lol no its not. The only reason the SNP can do that is because of the money they get from Westminster. The SNP play a very shrewd game.

Even though to adults out of the primary and high school eduction phase of life hear council tax freeze and think great, on the other end of the line school resources are finite in our school. We get one jotter for a year and the art paints and brushes need up dated

So why didn't they hold the Referendum then?

IMO, I feel Cameron should give in to the SNPs demands and devolve entire legislative power to Scotland, or make it completely independent.

Therefore, the SNP can do what the hell they like to Scotland, without any funding from Westminster.

Then they'd see how much it actually costs to provide free uni's, healthcare and prescriptions to an independent nation.

They'd rather destroy Scotland and make it into another slum like Manchester/Liverpool. If they got their way, it'd be the new chav capital.

Im more liberal if anything, but this extreme socialist view the SNP hold, certainly wont do their economy any good if they were a country of there own.

Eh, because they are minority government and the anti-democratic Brit Unionist parties voted it down in Holyrood. Let the people have their say...

'Cuz the SNP's a minority government in Scotland. Personally I hope they get returned with a majority or a larger minority next month. I actually like Salmond, and I agree with him, even though it's serving his own purposes, that England should be independent as well, so hopefully a formal debate in Scotland, especially one followed by a referendum and even more so one followed by a yes vote, would trigger the dissolution of the union.
