Wolverhampton although a city is more like a town it got its city status back in the turn of the millennium (2000). Why it is not a city simply because it's amenities and infrastructure is not like Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds...... Etc. Daytime isn't so bad you will find some popular high street brands to a extent such as topman, river island, primark, next but they are small in size then what they should be for city centre shopping but that's it there's no h&m, tk maxx, zara or Debenham etc so you know what I mean it's not like Birmingham shops are massive. Over the last few years (2010-onwards) there's to many payday loans, betting shops and pound stores opened up, why is there could be to do with the fact that it's representing the people living in the city at this moment in time which isn't a great sign. There's not any good places to eat either pizza hut shut down no pizza express chiquito etc again missing high street names maybe there not attracted to spend there investments to many kebab shops. There was plans for a £350 million regeneration plan but it collapsed during the recession as the irish investment company which was to invest half the amount with the council went bump. Car park on the meter to expensive 60p for 20 mins that's more expensive than Birmingham. Night life, now back in 2000 which was my era of night out wolves was brilliant buzzing heaving all the way up till 2006/2007 but a few stabbings in city centre one by one the clubs were just shutting down revolution, varsity, oceana all closed it's a ghost town at night. So as student you will be let down if you do move to wolverhampton you will have to travel to Telford or even better merry hill shopping centre(Brierley Hill, dudley) if you want a good shopping experience and for night out just tram to birmingham on the tram..SORTED!!!
