Embarrassing problem

Ok basically, for a few weeks now, every time i've been to the toilet, a little bit of blood has come out. It's only when i do number 2's. I've got a little lump next to my anus which i've had for years that has never bothered me, but it has started to hurt a little now that i am bleeding. I feel really embarrassed about it and i know i should see the doctor about it but i don't want to book an appointment with my GP in case my mum finds out (I don't really want to tell her), so could i go to a hospital where i can be more annonymous?

I know I sound really silly but i just really don't want anyone to know my problem.

you should go to your gp..confidentiality means they cant tell your mum and then they can sort everything out for you.
last time i went to A+E they asked for loads of details, phone number, address, gps name and address so its not annoymous there really anyway!

I think you really should see the doctor. I know it can be embarrassing but the GP won't tell anyone - they're not allowed to anyway, it would be a breach of confidentiality. If you're 16 or over you can go to the GP and the doc won't be allowed to even tell your parents either. Good luck

If you're under 16 your doctor isn't allowed to tell your parents either.

Your first point of contact really should be your GP. How are your parents going to find out anyway? Just phone up, book an appointment then wander over... even if they do and ask what's wrong, you can quite simply tell them it's none of their bloody business. After all, if they want to know, they should wait for you to tell them...

I had a similar problem (although not as serious), the doctor is NOT allowed to tell your parents without your consent. They see things like this all the time, it's nothing to be worried about!
it's definitly piles, how big is it? if not that big, then it's curable... do you constipate a lot? coz that's why it happens... you should make sure you don't stay in the toilet for too long, otherwise it will increase in size... (my mum's got this so i know quite a bit about it)

I doubt very much he has bowel cancer. It's more likely a haemorrhoid or a fistula. Either way, just go to the doctors, trust me they'll have seen a lot worse before!

Doctors see this and worse on a day to day basis!
Probably piles. See your doctor though.

Do you eat much fibre? Because it could be constipation, even if it isnt so hard-to-pass.
Eat bananas... even if you're sure it isn't constipation...it may help. If it doesn't improve, you must see doctors. You don't need to tell you mum where you're going, even though it's bad...lie, say your going shopping downtown or something.
you probably have hmorroids, sorry if the spelling is not correct, but you better see a doc, coz it can get really worse :frown:

I used to have problems with anal-leakage too.
Sorry to repeat what's already been said, but, yeah, you have piles. These can be treated with haemorroid cream (spelling?) which can be purchased in any chemist. Inthe meantime, visit your doctor. It's an extremely common problem (apparently the vast majority of pregnant women get them, for example, so it's not like the doctor won't have seen it before).

Never had them myself, but a friend did, and i'm told they're extremely painful! Serioulsy, I can understand that you'd not want to tell your dad, but surely your mum isnt gonna roll about in fits of laughter if you tell her?!
