Birmingham students will vote for Birmingham.

Britstol students will vote for Bristol.

Leeds students will vote for Leeds.

Liverpool students will vote for Liverpool.

Manchester students will vote for Manchester.

Sheffield students will vote for Sheffield.

Because the OP is referring to the six original civic universities (the original redbricks) and not using redbrick as under some expanded definition as many do.

Pointless question. Who here has done degrees in ALL these unis to make anything comming close to an informed opinion? No one. As others have mentioned, everyone will vote for their own uni. At least three people will ask where Durham, Imperial and Aberdeen are. At least two people will ask about Oxbridge. At least one will make a terrible ISA related gag.

Though I'd definitely rather go to Birmingham/Leeds than Bristol

in terms of prestige i would say Bristol, altho i voted Birmingham as i gotta be loyal! (and i've never been to any of the others)
