10 days till exams - Enough time to revise or not?

24th May - English Literature A
27th May - Business & People
6th June - Business + Edexcel Maths non-calc
10th June - Maths calc

Roughly how many hours of revision should I do per day, and is 10 days enough to revise or have I left it till too late?

If you started yesterday you would have stood a chance. No chance in getting the grade if you start today.

It's GCSE ... Revise like an hour and a half a day (the more the better) and you can.
If you can work religiously from now till the exam times then you have a shot.
In other words less procrastination and less friendly outings.

Anyone else ever set ambitious revision goals and ends up cramming a few days before anyway? :\
GCSEs require like a day each.

I tried to fail mine so I could be a hairdresser instead and I still bossed them. That's how easy they are.

Mate, im in the same boat as you, im scared so im revising, but whats the use, i will forget it before my exams and ive done quite a few modules and a gcse, revision the night before is where its at, ive managd to get A*s with minimal revsion, but just make sure you cover every little detail in the spec, you will gt an A*

This is why any clever student always consults Parkinson's Law:

"Work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion."

I've made a revision timetable... I've revised for an hour of these 1.5 weeks I timetabled so far. Guaranteed my standard cramming will be my strategy.

Edit: Just realised I'm in a GCSE forum... you'd think by my 3rd year of my degree I'd have learnt to revise properly by now. Did no revision for GCSEs.

Damn, I didn't notice either. >_>

Third year at uni as well. Still got the same revision strategy as back in those days (cram and pray).

Hmm, what does this law actually mean?

The more time you allow to complete a task, the longer it will take.

"The amount of time in which one has to perform a task is the amount of time it will take to complete said task."

I've actually experienced this a lot, and it is true in some ways.

dude its cool, they are gcses they need minimal attention. In saying that i am not telling you not to revise but yes you have more than enough time but start now if you want top grades. You could still do extremly well m8. Good luck

Thanks, how many hours do you recommend each day?
It's GCSEs... you'll be fine.
I didn't think people lrevised for GCSEs, well, I don' remember anyone ever revising for them back in school

ummmm well as many as you can tbh. You will do well if you revise in a consistent manner from now on but try around 6 hours a day and prioratise your subjects too. Make sure you spread all your hours out with breaks in between sessions and every 3 sessions take an hour off. Do as much as you can and you will get top grades. I did no work for mine, i did not even cram the night before and i came out with ABBBBBBBBCC. It has closed so many doors for me and i really regret it, do not make the same mistake i did. If you do really well its the first step to being anything you want to be. I know you can do it m8, GOOD LUCK. And PM me whenever you need help or pointers .

Honestly, GCSEs require minimal revision. My revision for them was an hour and a half the night before and on the bus on the way to school. And I got decent grades. When we got to A-Level the first thing we were told was, "You need to revise for A-Levels, GCSEs we don't tell you at the time, but you can get away with doing little revision".
Good Luck, anyway...
